The culture parents hide to survive is the culture their children need to thrive.

Reclaiming heritage, one ritual at a time
This project was in response to the '26 ICE Raids, further pushing the need for Latinx pride and empowerment.
Many young Latinx have a different relationship with heritage than their parents. They want to express it, but may lack knowledge. For them, representation is necessary for survival, whereas their parents used assimilation for survival.

Celebrating progress over perfection, Ceremonia encourages everyday rituals—starting with natural hair care—to help keep these traditions alive for the next generation.
Rooted in Ritual brings Latinx generations together to learn, share, and pass down heritage through hair, food, and dance.
